Shooting Star started out as a 2-episode holiday special from Seoul Broadcasting Station(SBS) that gathered 4 teams to duke it out in a futsal format. The teams formed were from various industries – models, actors, ex-national team members & relatives and comedians. The explosive popularity from the holiday special resulted in SBS launching the show in a full variety format that as of writing is up to 21 episodes.

Baztalks love everything about football and this show personified everything we love about football. The players from each team had no previous experience in the sport and it is pretty evident from episode 1 that a lot of the play would be very scrappy. Therein lies the beauty of the show and its success. As amateur players, we grew up playing in a similar manner and it brings us back to the time when playing football was less about tactics and fitness but just a means of enjoying a shared sport amongst friends. This is translated exceptionally well from the show as we see teams of various skill level unite to put up a fight against better players.

Baztalks would like to share the players in hopes you get to know the teams better and decide to catch the show on your own service providers!

The entire “Season 1” lasts about 15 episodes with each episode covering the match. You can evidently see the teams grow as the episodes go by and it is pretty amazing to see how these ladies open up to football and even fall in love with the sport.

Tune in for loads of tears, plenty of end to end stuff and most importantly – the love of football on display.

We have our favourites from the show that really impressed us and we’ll be sharing them in our Shooting Stars (골 때리는 그녀들) Top 8! Watch out for it!
